The Discovery of the Colour Purple

A god and goddess were walking with their dog on the beach in the city of Tyre when the dog began biting a shell, which subsequently turned its mouth a deep, rich purple.  The goddess liked the colour and that’s how the Phoenicians discovered and began using the colour purple.
The idea for the dress of the Phoenician man and woman was taken from a 3000 year old sculpture in the museum of Lebanon.
